INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Create a portfolio by folding a box and gluing the flaps together, leaving an opening for the artwork to slide inside.
- Apply White Gesso to the portfolio.
- Apply Hansa Yellow Medium to the portfolio. Let dry. Once dry, dry-brush a small amount of Cerulean Blue onto the Hansa Yellow Medium area.
- Using transfer paper, transfer the face and hair outline onto the portfolio. Add dots of Dioxazine Purple, Quinacridone Magenta, and Titanium White onto the area where hair will be. Use a toothpick to swirl colors together within the lines of the hair. (Do not over-mix.)
- On flesh-colored cardstock, transfer the face pattern. Cut out. Use Matte Medium to adhere the face to the portfolio surface.
- Using Carbon Black and a #3 round brush, paint the details and inside of the mouth.
- Paint the lettering and polka-dots in Carbon Black. Let dry. Once dry, trace around the lettering and some polka-dots in Titanium White.
- Apply velcro to the top flap and align with bottom flap to help the portfolio stay closed.
