Weathered Seasonal Summer Sign

Announce summer, or any season, with Weathered Wood and Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • E6000 glue
    • unfinished wooden letters in various sizes and fonts
    • 8" x 24" artist canvas
    • 3/4" oval brush
    • sponge daubers

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using a 3/4" oval brush, paint each letter Irish Moss.
    2. Using a 3/4" oval brush, apply a coat of Weathered Wood over each letter.
    3. Using a 3/4" oval brush, paint over each letter with various colors.
    4. Using a 3/4" oval brush, coat of DuraClear Satin Varnish to each letter.
    5. Using a 3/4" oval brush, basecoat the canvas in the color of your choice. (I chose Banana Cream).
    6. Using a 3/4" oval brush, apply a coat of Weathered Wood over the dried, painted canvas.
    7. Using a 3/4" oval brush, paint another coat of the paint of your choice over the dried canvas. (I chose Dolphin.)
    8. Using a 3/4" oval brush, apply a coat of DuraClear Satin Varnish over the canvas.
    9. Apply strong glue, such as E6000, to the backs of the letters and place them on the canvas.
    10. Using a 1/2” sponge dauber dipped in a color of your choice, place random polka dots on the sign.
