White Tray with Green Flowers

A wooden tray becomes a light, bright accent with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • 1" flat brush
    • liner brush
    • flower template design
    • 9" x 12" unfinished wooden tray

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Mix 1:1 Snow White with Americana Primer & Sealer and use a 1" flat brush to paint the tray. Let dry for two hours and add a second coat. Add a third coat, if necessary.
    2. Paint over the basecoat with Snow White. Let dry for two hours and paint a second coat. Let dry completely.
    3. Lay down tracing paper, transfer paper, and the flower template and trace over the design with a pencil.
    4. Paint the flowers and stems Hauser Light Green. Let dry for two hours and paint a second coat. Let dry. Paint a third coat, if necessary, and let dry.
    5. Using a liner brush and Indian Turquoise, paint dots around the flowers and on top of the tray handles. (If you like, practice painting the dots on a separate piece of paper first.)
    6. Let dry for several hours. Use the 1" flat brush to paint two coats of DuraClear Gloss Varnish, letting dry for two hours between coats.
