Wooden Summer Camping Utensil Caddy

Turn a tool caddy into a carrying case for eating utensils with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • tracing & transfer paper
    • tape
    • caddy
    • small brush
    • medium brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Using transfer paper and light sticking tape to hold the paper to the wood, trace over the design to the caddy.

    3. Using Espresso, paint the bench and the firewood.

    5. Use Cool White and Graphite to add definition and shading to the bench.

    7. Paint the inside of the fire with Coral Blush, using Dragon Fruit on the remaining flames.

    9. Paint in the tent with Peacock Teal, being sure to leave the inside of the tent and the flap unpainted for now. Using Graphite, paint in the tent lines.

    11. Add some Graphite to a little Peacock Teal to make it slightly darker and use to paint the inside of the tent and flap. Use Graphite and Cool White to add shading, gently swooping it on the tent and flap to give definition.

    13. Use Cool White and Graphite to add definition and shading to the flames as well as the logs.

    15. Use a small brush to paint the stars in Peacock Teal from the inside out (to give them that whispy look). Paint a dot inside with Cool White. Add swirly smoke with Graphite and shade some with Cool White. Paint in the crescent moon with Graphite and shade it with Coral Blush, Peacock Teal, and Cool White.

    17. After drawing the compass rose in, paint the inside circle Coral Blush and the outside Dragon Fruit.

    19. Paint the inside star with Espresso and the outside Peacock Teal.

    21. Shade in the star by adding Espresso to Cool White and paint one side of each prong of the star. Using Cool White, add definition to the circle area and the Peacock Teal star. Add a cresent moon to the top of the compass using Graphite.

    23. Add stars using Peacock Teal. Paint from the inside out using a small brush (to give them that whispy look) and then dot the inside with Cool White.
